The 2022 Mercedes-Benz S 580 e is a PHEV model locally assembled in Pekan, Pahang

Last December, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia officially unveiled its latest locally-assembled S-Class model, the 2022 Mercedes-Benz S 580 e for the local market. Bookings were coming in hot despite customers not knowing the price, but today, that figure is official.

For those who are interested in getting their very own S 580 e, this 'Made in Pahang' luxury vehicle is priced at RM698,744 (on-the-road excluding insurance, 0% sales tax included).

For that price, future owners will be getting a PHEV S-Class that is powered by a 3.0-litre inline-six engine with 367hp and 500Nm of torque. It also has an electric motor that produces 110kW and 440Nm of torque, which allows the new S 580 e to hit 0-100km/h in just 5.2 seconds. The all-electric drive range is set around 100km per full charge.

As elegant as it looks on the outside, the interior is where Mercedes-Benz refers to as the 'Pinnacle of Automotive Luxury'. The biggest updates that you'll find in the new S 580 e are the second-gen Mercedes-Benz MBUX with voice command, five large screens, extensive use of airbags (including the world's first rear airbags), plus many more.
