Mercedes-Benz Malaysia welcomes its all-new 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class for the local market in the form of two lovely variants, the Mercedes-Benz C 200 Avantgarde Line as well as the Mercedes-Benz C 300 AMG Line. Judging by the looks, the new C-Class has certainly grown up in terms of looks and everything else within.

Regarded as the best-selling class from Mercedes-Benz, the all-new C-Class offers a more dynamic outer appearance and stance thanks to its short front overhang, elongated wheelbase, and rear overhang. Looking more youthful than ever, both the C 200 and C 300 certainly cater to a wider audience of all ages.

Starting with the base C 200 Avantgarde Line, it's a more modest variant compared to the C 300 and you can tell them apart via its 18-inch 5-spoke wheels, Avantgarde exterior styling, and a more low-key front-end grille. Both models get the same LED High Performance Headlamps, and Lowered Comfort suspension.

As for firepower, this mild-hybrid model is fitted with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine paired with a 9G-Tronic transmission that produces 204hp and 300Nm of torque. Its electric motor is rated at 15kW and 200Nm of torque which allows the C 200 to hit 0-100km/h in 7.6 seconds before arriving at its top speed of 246km/h.

The insides for both the C 200 and C 300 are relatively the same thanks to the brand's latest Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system which comes in the form of a 12.3-inch driver display and an 11.9-inch centre touchscreen. Comfort is the main theme for the C 200, whereas the C 300 offers a sportier note.

Speaking of the C 300 AMG Line, this sportier offering comes with a set of 19-inch AMG-multi-spoke wheels, panoramic sliding sunroof, Mercedes-Benz pattern grille, and a parking package with 360-degree camera as compared to the base C 200.

Under that longer and slightly more muscular front bonnet lies a 2.0-litre four-banger with the same 9G-Tronic gearbox that produces 258hp and 400Nm of torque. As for its electric motor (the C 300 is also a mild-hybrid model), it's the same with 15kW and 200Nm of torque which helps it to complete the 0-100km/h sprint in just 6 seconds flat. Top speed? 250km/h.

Since these are CBU models (the CKD models are planned for sometime in the second half of 2022), Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has priced the all-new Mercedes-Benz C 200 Avantgarde Line and C 300 AMG Line at RM288,334 and RM330,681 respectively (OTR price excluding insurance, 5% sales tax included).
