Check out the 2022 Honda Civic Si with some goodies taken directly from the Civic Type R

What you're looking at is the new 2022 Honda Civic Si which Honda claims is the 'best-handling, best-equipped and most fun-to-drive Civic Si ever'. Based on the 11th gen Civic sedan model, the new Civic Si is packed with some proper driving goodies, including some very lovely parts taken straight from the Honda Civic Type R. Lovely.

Its overall look carries a more sporty attitude with improved aerodynamics to boot. We can safely assume that Honda found the right balance between a smooth yet aggressive facade thanks to its front and rear bumper designs, as well as those twin oval exhaust tips sticking out at the back. Downforce is further added via a hidden front spoiler placed under the vehicle and a gloss black rear spoiler, all of which is riding on a set of 18-inch 10-spoke matte black alloy wheels.

What's under the hood is arguably the most exciting part of the new Civic Si - an updated 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder VTEC engine that produces 200hp at 6,000rpm and 260Nm of torque somewhere between 1,800rpm to 5,000rpm. Honda also stated that there's a new single-mass flywheel that's 26% lighter which offers improved throttle response.

Then there's the six-speed manual transmission that's enhanced with 10% shorter throws that's similar to the Civic Type R. Also featuring a rev-matching system, the Civic Si helps to blip the throttle during every downshift to help with the rev matches as well as offering the same 430m/s response time just like the Civic Type R.

Other new highlights include:

  • Sport-tuned suspension & brakes for improved ride quality
  • 60-percent stiffer steering system torsion bar for better feel and response
  • New Individual mode in the Drive Mode system
  • Driver-focused interior with Si-specific body stabilizing sport seats
  • Honda Sensing safety suite
  • 9-inch HD colour touchscreen
  • 12-speaker Bose sound system with subwoofer
  • Exclusive Blazing Orange Pearl exterior colour + more
