All 2022 Honda Civic variants come with the same 1.5L VTEC Turbo engine
Honda Malaysia has officially launched the all-new 2022 Honda Civic for the Malaysian market. With bookings open since last month, the 11th generation Civic comes with an all-new design language, updated powertrain, and of course, enhanced handling as well as overall performance.
There are three different variants to choose from for the all-new 2022 Honda Civic - E, V, and the range-topping RS model. This is the first time that the RS badge and styling have been embedded into a Civic which offers a very sporty look and feel for the 11th-generation range-topping variant.
While the specs are vastly different between the three variants, all 2022 Honda Civic models are equipped with the same and enhanced 1.5L VTEC Turbo engine which produces 182PS and 240Nm of torque. There are now four different driving modes to choose from - ECON, Normal, and Sport Mode (available in the V and RS models).
Starting with the E, this variant comes ready with Honda Sensing, LED headlights, 16-inch wheels, and a seven-inch Display Audio with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. For the V, the display audio is upgraded to a nine-inch unit together with LED fog lights, paddle shift, 17-inch wheels, Honda Connect, and Honda LaneWatch Camera.
If you opt for the range-topping RS model, you'll get all of the above with a few extras and enhancements such as a set of 18-inch matte black wheels, trunk spoiler, chrome tailpipe, combi leather suede seats, auto wipers, front door ambient light, plus other bits and pieces exclusive to the range-topping Civic.
The Honda Sensing package comes with a host of safety features such as:
- Lead Car Departure Notification System (New)
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Low Speed Follow
- Collision Mitigation Braking System
- Forward Collision Warning
- Lane Keep Assist System
- Road Departure Mitigation
- Lane Departure Warning
- Auto High Beam
For those who are interested, the 2022 Honda Civic is priced at RM125,634, RM138,043, and RM144,350 for the E, V, and RS variants respectively (OTR price excluding insurance + sales tax exemption until 30 June 2022). Honda Malaysia plans to sell around 900 units per month across the country.
