Special edition Ducati Panigale V2 dedicated to Troy Bayliss

The first web episode of the Ducati World Premiere 2022 kicked off a bit earlier than previous years, and they're starting things off strong with the introduction of the Ducati Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship Anniversary model.

Dedicated to a true Ducati icon in the world of two-wheel motorsports, Troy Bayliss, this special edition Panigale V2 will be a numbered series to pay tribute to a Ducati legend who won his very first WorldSBK championship title 20 years ago in 2001.

Inspired by the Ducati 996 R Troy Bayliss rode to many victories, the Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary is essentially a Panigale V2 'Speciale' with a host of updates for better track-conquering capabilities to commemorate the number 21's contributions to Ducati over the years.

Compared to the base Panigale V2, this special edition model comes ready with:

  • Ducati's signature tricolour used by Troy in 2001
  • Single-seat tail setup
  • Troy's signature on the fuel tank
  • Premium Ohlins suspension package (NX30 front forks, TTX36 rear shock & steering damper)
  • Lithium-ion battery (3kg lighter)
  • Dedicated Ducati Performance accessories + more

Equipped with a 955cc V2 Superquadro engine, the Panigale V2 'Speciale' produces 155hp at 10,750rpm and 104Nm of torque at 9,000rpm. Carrying a dry weight of only 174.5kg, this baby will most likely blitz through corners like butter and thunder down the straights with quite a soundtrack thanks to other additions like its carbon fibre/titanium exhaust silencer.

As stated before, this will be a limited production run but we're not sure of how many will leave the factory floors. We're probably guessing that it won't be more than four figures looking at the three 'x' notches on the specially engraved triple clamp.

Pricing-wise, rest assured that it'll be more than the standard Panigale V2 which is currently being sold here in Malaysia at RM109,900 a pop. Our best educated guess would be somewhere north of RM130,000 thanks to all those extra goodies.
