2022 Ducati Multistrada V2 unveiled - 937cc, 113hp
Goodbye Ducati Multistrada 950, hello 2022 Ducati Multistrada V2
Out with the old Ducati Multistrada 950, in with the new 2022 Ducati Multistrada V2. The second bike to be introduced by Ducati for 2022 (after the surprise Ducati Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship Anniversary launch back in July) is no longer a basic entry-level Multistrada.
With the tagline "Your everyday wonder", the new 2022 Ducati Multistrada V2 is available in two different trims, the base Multistrada V2 and the range-topping Multistrada V2 S. The base for both models are the same, but the MTS V2 S carries most of the enhancements to truly differentiate it from the previous-gen MTS 950.
Starting with firepower, the new MTS V2 is powered with a slightly updated 937cc Testastretta 11° engine which is now lighter by almost 2kg. Producing 113hp and 94Nm of torque. There's also a new gearbox and clutch system that offers better fluidity and precision for improved gearshifts.
This new engine also comes with extended maintenance intervals of 15,000km for oil changes and 30,000km for valve clearance checks. That should be decent enough to keep your wallets happy for an extended period of time.
Other new components (wheels, side mirrors, brake disc flanges) further cut down its weight by 5kg compared to the previous MTS 950. This offers a much-improved riding experience when paired with the MTS V2's new riding ergonomics, especially by offering different seat heights from 790mm to 830mm.
If you truly want to experience what the new Ducati adventure-touring bike has to offer, opt for the V2 S variant as it comes with some very unique updates that include:
- Ducati Skyhook Suspension EVO semi-active suspension system
- Full-LED headlight with Ducati Cornering Lights
- 5-inch full-colour TFT display
- Ducati Quick Shift up/down
- Cruise control
- Backlit handlebar switches + more
