2022 Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid debuts in Malaysia, sold out before launch - From RM945k
Producing 544 PS and 750 Nm, the Flying Spur Hybrid can cover 800km with a full tank of fuel
In conjunction with Bentley's 25th anniversary in Malaysia, the brand today officially welcomed the new Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid which is priced from RM945,000 before taxes and options.
Powering the Flying Spur Hybrid is a 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine and an electric motor that collectively produce a total output of 544 PS and 750 Nm of torque, enabling the car to complete the century sprint in 4.3 seconds, matching the performance of the traditional W12 and V8 powertrains.
In terms of range, the hybridised powertrain achieves about 800 km (when fully fuelled) thanks to an 18 kWh (usable capacity) lithium-ion battery.
Inside the cabin, the automatic StartStop switch has been replaced with a control for the three E Modes – EV Drive, Hybrid Mode, and Hold Mode, enabling the driver to manage the battery usage during a journey.
EV Drive mode is engaged as soon as the car is switched on and maximises the electric driving experience. This is ideal for city driving and for shorter journeys.
Customers can choose between a selection of fifteen leather colours and eight different veneers to create an individual interior specification.
Stitching and emblems can also be specified in blind or contrast colours, as well as the option of contrast piping to the seat covers – reminiscent of the original Flying Spur from the 1950s.
The driver instruments include information showing when the car is operating solely in EV drive, regenerating whilst deaccelerating or using the combustion engine.
The flow of energy can also be displayed via the infotainment screen where statistics can be seen and the timers for charging of the vehicle can be set.
Additional e-motion information is available to the driver via the instrument panel, heads up display and centre screen, including range, battery level and charging information.
Exterior visual differences for the Flying Spur Hybrid include a ‘Hybrid’ front fender badge, quad oval tailpipes, and a covered universal charging point on the left-hand rear fender.
Other exterior highlights include the quad oval tailpipes and a covered universal charging point on the left-hand rear fender, 20-inch standard wheels, and diamond-cut LED headlights and taillights.
That being said, the Flying Spur Hybrid is delivered with market specific cables, facilitating charging of the vehicle at the home or via industrial charge points at work or in public car parks.
In addition to the standard equipment supplied, customers can also choose a Bentley charging dock available as a cost option, providing an attractive solution housing the charge unit and storing the charge cables neatly.
All Flying Spurs are manufactured at Bentley’s home in Crewe – the world’s first carbon neutral factory for luxury car production. The recommended retail price of the Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid starts from RM 945,000 (excluding duties, taxes, and registration) and is also available in the Azure and S variants.
The Flying Spur Hybrid is now available for order. At launch, all available models of the Flying Spur Hybrid have been spoken for.
