Aprilia's latest offering is here to cater to the rising demand for scooters in Malaysia

In an effort to cater to the rising demand for scooters in Malaysia, Didi Resources, the authorised distributor of Aprilia motorcycles in Malaysia today officially launched the new Aprilia SR-GT scooter range.

Offered in two variants, the Aprilia SR-GT 200’s price is as mentioned below:

•    Aprilia SR-GT 200 – RM19,900
•    Aprilia SR-GT 200 Sport – RM20,900

While the base SR-GT 200 comes in Aprilia Black, Infinity Blue, and Street Grey colour options with black seats and rims, the SR-GT 200 Sport comes in more striking colours like Street Gold, Red Raceway, and Iridium Grey, as well as red seats, red wheels, and sportier looking graphics for an additional RM1,000.

Assembled and brought in from Vietnam, both Aprilia SR-GT variants are powered by the same 174 cc single-cylinder four-stroke i-get engine with Start & Stop system which produces 17.4 hp at 8,000 rpm and 16.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm.

The liquid cooled engine is paired with a CVT-type transmission, electronic fuel injection, and an automatic centrifugal dry clutch. 

Built on Aprilia’s double-cradle high-resistance steel tube chassis, the SR-GT features a hydraulic telescopic fork upfront with 120 mm travel, and a double hydraulic shock absorber with adjustable preload at the rear.

Stopping power comes courtesy of a hydraulic brake system with a 260 mm wavy disc and ABS in front, and a 220 mm disc at the rear. Meanwhile the tyre sizes are rated at 14-inches in front and 13-inches at the rear.

In terms of dimensions, the SR-GT scooter measures 1,920 mm in length and 765 mm in width, with a 799 mm seat height and a wheelbase length of 1,350 mm. Fuel tank capacity stands at 9-litres while the dry weight is rated at 144 kg.

Made for urban commuting as well as mild off-roading, the Aprilia SR-GT scooter comes with a motorcycle-inspired wide and naked handlebar, long-travel suspension, increased ground clearance, as well as Michelin all-terrain tyres as standard.

Other equipment include full LED lights, an LCD instrument panel, and the Aprilia MIA connectivity system which is offered as an option.
