Modenas has officially launched the second-gen Modenas Dominar D400

Modenas has officially launched the new 2021 Modenas Dominar D400 here in Malaysia. The second-gen Dominar comes with a host of updates from styling to firepower that makes it one of the most exciting models to own within the 400cc segment.

This sport-touring model from Modenas now comes with an updated 373cc single-cylinder DOHC liquid-cooled engine that produces around 39hp @ 8,000rpm and 35Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. Compared to the previous-gen model and its SOHC setup, the new Dominar D400 produces 5hp more. Power is delivered to the rear wheel via a slightly updated six-speed manual transmission with assist and slipper clutch.

Another major change comes in the form of its 43mm upside-down front fork, which offers better handling and riding characteristics compared to the previous model's telescopic setup. The frame and Nitrox preload-adjustable rear shock are maintained for the new Dominar D400 model, although it's now wider by 24mm. There is also the new twin-barrel exhaust and comfort seat for a better overall riding experience.

The rest of its specs are pretty much the same as the first Modenas Dominar D400 which include 17-inch wheels, dual disc brakes (320mm front, 230mm rear), dual-channel ABS, 13-litre fuel tank, and the full-LED headlight with auto-on feature to name a few.

Modenas has priced the new Dominar D400 at RM13,997 (excluding insurance, road tax, and registration). Two colours are up for grabs - Charcoal Black, and the new Modenas Dominar D400's hero colour, Savannah Green.
