Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has officially launched its latest flagship pick-up truck model, the 2021 Mitsubishi Triton Athlete. Flagship, you ask? Yup, the new Triton Athlete is replacing the Triton Adventure X as the range-topping variant for the Triton 4x4 series here in the country.

Exterior-wise, the Triton Athlete is available in three different colour options - Sun Flare Orange Pearl, White Diamond, and Jet Black Mica. Its rugged facade is further amplified with the presence of the gloss black front under garnish, radiator grille, side mirrors, door handles, window wind deflectors, 18-inch wheels, and side steps.

All of these combined with the Triton Athlete's 'Dynamic Shield' front end design results in a very sporty and aggressive-looking pick-up truck. It's even sportier when you look under the hood where a 2.4-litre MIVEC turbodiesel engine can be found with the ability to produce 181PS and 430Nm of torque.

It's also enhanced with Mitsubishi's Variable Valve Timing technology for greater efficiency as well as the Super Select 4WD II plus off-road mode for even greater performance off the beaten track. Traction and handling can be set according to the driving conditions and that is assisted further with features like the Hill Descent Control.

Step inside the cabin and you'll be welcomed with orange stitching leather-wrapped steering wheel, gear knobs, and LED illuminated scuff plates for some added premium-ness. The 2021 Mitsubishi Triton Athlete also comes with a rear air circulator, a first in its class.

Other interior features include All Round Monitor, Driving Video Recorder (DVR), seven-inch touchscreen audio with Apple CarPlay and Android Ready, all available as standard. If you're wondering about safety, the Triton Athlete also comes with:
