Yup, it’s a busy week for the Naza Group’s Italian brands following the #FerrariPopUpMY exhibition and upcoming Ducati premier (more on this later). This time round, we bring forth news from the other marque under the care of Naza Italia, that being the famed trident badge of Maserati.

Orders for the updated 2019 Maserati Levante S are now open through Naza Italia, which in turn signals the luxury performance SUV’s ever-growing popularity not just worldwide, but locally too. As before, the Levante S will be offered in luxury-focused GranLusso and sport-oriented GranSport flavours.

In its 2019 model guise, the Levante S has been given a mild nip and tuck with its exterior, sporting new Levante GTS-inpsired bumpers front and aft, as well as a new set of 21-inch Helios wheels (GranSport).

Inside, the Levante S gets a mild makeover too, the obvious changes lie in the new High Glass Metal Weave interior trim plus a redesigned gearshift lever with shorter travel and improved operation, not forgetting an updated infotainment unit too.

What remains unchanged are the oily mechanical bits, but this isn’t bad news entirely considering this hotter S version gets a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 that churns out 430hp. Sporting a class-leading specific torque output of 194 Nm per litre, this super-SUV does the 0 to 100kph sprint in just 5.2 seconds before topping out at 264kph.

Just in case you forgot, we at TG Malaysia had the thrill of sampling this Italian super-SUV in the desert sands of the UAE not too long ago where we noted its rather impressive abilities on- and off-road.

Commanding a base price of RM 788,800.00, orders for the new 2019 Maserati Levante S can be placed with Naza Italia now. Said price includes a 3-year, unlimited mileage Standard Warranty plus the Maserati Premium Service Plus of 3 years or 60,000 km (whichever comes first).

So, what will it be folks? This, or the tried and tested Porsche Cayenne? Or would you prefer a Range Rover instead?
