2019 BMW S1000RR M Package arrives with carbon wheels!

Taking advantage of the 2019 Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix race weekend, BMW Motorrad Malaysia unveiled three new models at the Sepang International Circuit earlier today, with the all-new S1000RR superbike leading the trio.

BMW’s new litre-class missile lands locally exclusively in M Package form currently, sporting a full swing of tech and hardware, thus making it most focused form of the new generation S1000RR.

At the heart of things is a brand new 999cc in-line four-banger primed with ShiftCam tech that delivers 207bhp and 113Nm, not forgetting a mad 14,000rpm red-line figure too. The mill gets paired with a 6-speed straight-cut chain-drive manual box that’s brimmed with BMW’s HP Shift Assist Pro bi-directional quickshifter.

Said powertrain is encased within a newly developed Flex Frame chassis construction that sports short overhangs. Notable chassis hardware includes race-derived fully adjustable front forks and rear shock, a pair of quad-piston calipers grabbing dual 320mm rotors up front, as well as an aluminium swingarm assembly.

Crucially, the M Package also adds a set of lightweight carbon fibre wheels and lithium-ion battery unit, which in turn allows the S1000RR M Package to tip the scale at just 193.5kg (kerb). Other M Package bits include the seat and country-specific brake lights assembly.

Other notable features include four selectable ride modes (Rain, Road, Dynamic and Race) plus Pro Modes on top of which, DTC, ABS Pro, Dynamic Traction Control, Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Control, Launch Control, Pit Lane Limiter, as well as a brand new and interactive a 6.5-inch TFT screen display unit.

In M Package form, the all-new BMW S1000RR comes dressed exclusively in BMW Motorrad’s signature white, red and blue Motorsport colourway, which bodes well with the bike’s overall new and sharp styling featuring a brand new pair of symmetrical LED headlight up front.

All in, BMW Motorrad Malaysia have set a base retail price of RM138,500 for the new S1000RR M Package. Included in said price is BMW Motorrad Malaysia’s all-new 3-year warranty and 3-year roadside assistance coverage.

Besides this litre-class missile, BMW Motorrad also introduced the new and heavily upgraded R1250R streetfighter and R1250RS sport tourer, which in turn effectively sees the firm completing the new generation R1250 line up locally. We’ll have more details on these two new models in a separate posting soon.
