Honda chose Malaysia as the venue for the new Jazz Hybrid world premiere which was unveiled at the Carlist.my MAA Drive, Test & Buy event at Setia City Convention Centre. The Sport Hybrid i-DCD is expected to eventually be introduced into the Malaysia market by Q2 this year, with delivery to customers starting from the third quarter.

The new Jazz Hybrid to be introduced locally will be the only one outside the Japan market to feature Honda’s new 7-speed Dual-Clutch Drive (i-DCD) hybrid system. An integrated High Power Motor works together with a 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC engine to produce 135bhp, equivalent to a 1.8-litre engine.

Electric Vehicle (EV) mode drivability is also promoted by having independently functioning motor and engine which assists in sustaining regenerative energy and enhances fuel efficiency.

In contrast to the previous Honda Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system, the new Jazz Hybrid employs Intelligent Power Unit (IPU) to offer double its system output and 1.5 times its energy capacity. This also offers a longer period of total electric mode (EV).

Also introduced at the same time is the new Jazz Petrol. It is powered by a 1.5-litre engine and connected to a CVT gearbox. The new Jazz Petrol comes with a new chrome grille, new front and rear bumper design, dual tone colour alloy wheel and LED Daytime Running Lights for enhanced stylish outlook. The Smart Entry and Push Start Button will be the standard feature across all variant. Half-Leather Seats and Reverse Camera will also be available for customer comfort and convenience.

Buyers can place bookings on the upcoming Jazz Petrol and Sport Hybrid i-DCD – as well as other Honda vehicles – with discounts up to RM12,000.
