New generation Triumph Street Triple lands in Malaysia

Triumph’s new generation streetfighter official launched in Malaysia by Fast Bikes Sdn Bhd.

Malaysian custodian of the famed Triumph Motorcycles brand Fast Bikes Sdn Bhd updated its line up after debuting the new generation Triumph Street Triple model earlier this month at the firm’s flagship PJ showroom.

The iconic English streetfighter that started it all has undergone a serious transformation from its predecessor. It can be had in either an entry-level S, mid-spec R Low Ride Height (LRH) or flagship RS forms, each boasting different levels of performance and equipment to match.

All three share the same new and enlarged 765cc version of Triumph’s signature triple-cylinder powerplant. The mill outputs 111hp and 73Nm in the S, 116hp and 77Nm in the R, and a whopping 121hp and 77Nm in the range-topping RS. Additionally, each bike is primed with selectable ride modes too with the RS offering five in total including Race.

Besides that, Triumph have revised the new Street Triple’s chassis by endowing with several new features to cope with its newfound power. Notable highlights include advanced new Showa front forks in all three plus an Ohlins STX40 rear monoshock for the RS. The powerful range-topper also gains top-shelf Brembo brakes, Pirelli tyres as well as five selectable riding modes including Race.

All three variants are now open for bookings and purchases exclusive with Fast Bikes Sdn Bhd and its network of authorised dealers nationwide. Price start from RM52,900 and RM59,900 for the entry-level S and mid-spec R variants respectively ( basic prices with GST). The flagship Triumph Street Triple RS, on the other hand, commands RM66,900 instead (basic price with GST).

Speaking at the launch of the new variants, Dato’ Razak al-Malique, Chief Operating Officer of Fast Bikes Sdn Bhd, said that the previous generation Triumph Street Triple was one of the most versatile motorcycles in its segment.

He adds, “We are confident that Malaysians will find the Street Triple to be perfectly suited for their needs.  Be it for daily commuting, touring or outings on the tracks, they will love the performance of the new Street Triple S, R and RS."
