Joining the Mitsubishi Triton family in Malaysia is the just-launched Triton Athlete 4x4, which is made for ‘Everyday Athletes’ to highlight the truck’s agility despite challenges on the road.
The Triton Athlete is only available in Mica Black colour further complemented by contrasting orange decals. Other new items include the front bumper garnish, black grille with honeycomb mesh, and 17-inch alloys.
Also new are the black side steps, door handles, rear bumper and new tailgate spoiler.
Inside the cabin, you get black monotone interior with perforated orange leather combination with the word ‘Athlete’ embroidered on the backrest. The contrasting orange colour is also for the stitching on the leather steering, gear knob, door trim, and centre console. The Triton Athlete comes with a new infotainment system which offers Apple CarPlay compatibility.
Power still comes from the 181ps/430Nm 2.4-litre turbodiesel with VGT. Standard safety systems include seven SRS airbags, EBD, Active Stability with Traction Control, Hill-Start Assist, Trailer Stability Assist and Brake Override System.
