McLaren 570S previewed in Malaysia

570PS, 600Nm and a tentative price of RM1.7mil

The McLaren 570S Coupe made a special appearance in Kuala Lumpur today, ahead of its local introduction scheduled after production for Asia begins next year. Its arrival marks the entry of McLaren's Sport Series, which also consists of the slightly tamer 540C, in Malaysia.

As its name suggests, the 570S is blessed with 570PS (562bhp) which comes from a familiar 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 that also delivers 600Nm of twist. Paired with McLaren's 7-speed Seamless shift DCT (SSG), the M838T mill propels the British supercar from rest to 100kph in 3.2 seconds. 0-200kph is done in 9.5 seconds, with top speed expected to exceed 320kph.

Thanks to the new carbon fibre MonoCell II chassis, the 570S is one of the lightest cars to come out of Woking in recent years. More enticingly, a similar weight reduction also applies to McLaren ownership, with the 570S expected to go for RM1.7mil after taxes once the formalities are sorted out. This makes it cheaper than the likes of the Porsche 911 Turbo and Ferrari California T.

What's your pick? Either way, don't you wish you had that kind of money lying on your table right now?
