The popular TV animation Gundam is 40 years old this year and is still very iconic. The war story between the Earth Federation Force and the Principality of Zeon was always fierce and has been adapted into the design of Seiko’s limited edition Prospex Mobile Gundam.

The Prospex Mobile Gundam features the Char Zaku (SLA031J1) and Mass Production Type Zaku (SLA029J1), each with its own design motifs to correspond with the animation. The second hand pattern, for example, is inspired by Zeon mobile suit’s iconic mobile-eyed sensor. The mobile suit number is also engraved on the outer-case protector.

The watches run on Caliber 8L35 automatic movement with a 50-hour power reserve. The 52.4mm case is titanium, with a titanium and ceramic outer-case protector. The look is completed with a silicone strap matching the Zaku’s colour.

The watches are available beginning this month and limited to just 1,000 units each. Every Char Zaku carries the Char’s personal mark, while the Mass Production Type Zaku carries the symbol mark of the Principality of Zeon.
