Bell & Ross BR 05: Reinventing the iconic square

By daryl, 25 September 2019

Bell & Ross has a new watch, and its 40mm case is neither circular nor square-shaped, not in the traditional sense at least. The recently-launched BR 05 marks an evolution of the iconic square-cased BR 03, retaining its "round in square" design philosophy while testing new creative boundaries with an integrated case that fuses with the bracelet.

In fact, the BR 05 is the first square-cased (sort of) Bell & Ross timepiece that can be had with a steel bracelet. Rubber straps are available as a marginally cheaper option; they're even colour-coded with the dial, which is currently available in a choice of Black Steel, Grey Steel or Blue Steel.

Regardless of the dial's finish, all BR 05 Steel specimens feature Applique numerals and indices coated in Super-Luminova, plus a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. They also share the same BR-CAL.322 automatic mechanical movement.

Prices for the new Bell & Ross BR 05 Steel range start at RM19,700 for all rubber strap models, with the steel bracelet commanding a RM2,500 premium at RM22,200 apiece.

What do you think of Bell & Ross's latest spin on the classic wristwatch?
