Contemporary Swiss watchmaking house Baume & Mercier has struck a new partnership with leading Singapore-based luxury retail management firm FJ Benjamin.

The announcement was marked with a swanky afternoon affair co-hosted by both firms at the swanky Brixton23 speakeasy bar and restaurant, KL just before the Raya holidays. The event featured a historical showcase of Baume & Mercier watchmaking heritage led by and eight vintage watches that were flown in from the Baume & Mercier Museum in Geneva.

Arriving in Malaysia for the first time, these priceless watches on display were chosen from significant periods in the brand’s history. Whilst here, guests were also introduced to the first Baume & Mercier collection equipped with its in-house mechanical movement called ‘Baumatic’.

The movement’s birth came as a result of the brand’s 189-year watchmaking expertise following five years of research and development. Baumatic was designed to provide innovative solutions in four distinct fields: Power reserve, Chronometric accuracy, Sensitivity to magnetic fields and Durability.

Heritage aside, the event even featured a showcase of the exciting new 2019 novelties from the Classima and Clifton Club collection – essentially, an assortment of men and ladies timepieces with elegant or sporty designs.

With this new partnership, Baume & Mercier fans can expect the marque’s presence to increase regionwide with its new retail management and distribution partner FJ Benjamin. Presently, the Singapore-based firm has offices in three cities, manages over 20 iconic brands and operates 250 stores.
