Almost every Malaysian that calls Penang home will argue that the state is the culinary capitol of the country. Where there is good food, there are tourists. And Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts lays claim to two of the most iconic places to stay on the island for a beachside holiday: Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa and Golden Sands Resort.

Both resorts, which are located side-by-side along the tranquil Batu Ferringi Beach, are now offering discounted nightly rates for travellers to enjoy the wonders of Penang, including UNESCO World Heritage Georgetown, with premium levels of hospitality at affordable prices. 

Golden Sands Resort is offering discounts of up to 20 percent, with rooms starting from RM350 per night as part of its Two-Night Penang Getaway package, depending on room occupancy and seasonality. Hotel guests also enjoy food and beverage credit worth RM50 nett, on top of the daily breakfast spread. 

Similarly, Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa’s rates are 30 percent cheaper than usual, with rooms starting from just RM500 per night. The food and beverage credit here is worth RM100 nett but guests are also required to book a minimum of two nights to enjoy these perks. Additionally, both hotels offer a free scheduled shuttle bus service and WiFi on resort grounds.
