Honda HR-V recall: 2,814 units affected in Malaysia

Honda HR V Red Ruby Red 2

This is current so pay attention please. Honda Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (HMSB) has issued a recall for 2,814 units of the HR-V (2016 model year) due to the possibility that the front stabiliser bar may break under high stress. Do note that no other current-selling models are affected.

Source of the issue has been identified due to insufficient temperature control during its production process, compromising the stabiliser bar’s strength. In the event of breakage, the vehicle will be unstable during driving as the wheels may be unbalanced. Having said that, so far no incidents have been reported in Malaysia in relation to this.

All affected front stabiliser bars will be replaced with newly made parts. Currently, Honda Malaysia has 50 per cent of the replacement parts in stock nationwide, and parts availability will be at 100 per cent in mid-November 2017.

As usual, HMSB will issue letters to customers regarding details of this recall. Those affected are advised to urgently bring their vehicle to a Honda authorised dealer for inspection and part replacement. All related costs will be borne by HMSB.
