Ferrari 250 Breadvan or Ford GT40: which on-board is best?

Earlier this week we brought you some ear-melting goodness in the form of a Ferrari 250 GT SWB ‘Breadvan’ being hurled around the Goodwood Motor Circuit by five-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Emanuele Pirro. If you’ve not already enjoyed it, take two minutes and fifty-two seconds of your day to sample it now. What. A. Noise.

Then, help us settle a debate. See, once we happened across this sonorous V12 doing the business, someone in the TopGear.com office carelessly suggested this was the greatest Goodwood on-board clip of all time.

Others argued it wasn’t a patch on the famous video of Kenny Brack wrestling a Ford GT40 around the same circuit in even gnarlier weather. And then, we’re afraid, it descended into shouting, hair-pulling, and the throwing of office equipment. Everyone is expected to make a full recovery.

We’ve included both videos here for your delectation. The GT40 clip’s sound quality is undoubtedly ropier, and the V8 perhaps not as tuneful and the Ferrari’s V12. But the car control is simply mind-blowing, as Brack balances the brutish Le Mans legend on a knife-edge – while lapping other, more cautious cars for fun.

Can you settle this debate, please? Which is the best piece of Goodwood driving ever committed to on-board camera?
