Things are getting real now that the first pre-production model of the BMW X7 Sports Activity Vehicle has come out of the factory in Spartanburg, America. From now on, it will be 12 months before the production car is ready. For now, the vehicle will go under various tests under partially extreme conditions.
For that, the SAV will naturally be wrapped with camouflage as development engineers take it around the world for on-road tests.
The upcoming X7 will be manufactured solely at this factory, where the rest of the X models -namely the X3, X4, X5, and X6 – are produced for global distribution.
As expected with BMW’s numbering convention, The BMW X7 sits alongside the 7 Series in the company’s line-up. Expect plush materials then, and together with a choice of either two- or three rows of seats. The latter, according to BMW Group design chief, Adrian van Hooydonk, will each row will have two seats.
