Volvo S60 T6 granted EEV status

EEV incentives, which is given to car models that meet energy efficiency requirements as stated in the National Automotive Policy, does not appear enough, it seems. The latest to receive it is the Volvo S60 T6 and the impact is immense.

It’s previous retail price of RM280,888 (OTR, excluding insurance) is now reduced to RM238,888, thanks to the EEV status. That’s a reduction of RM42,000… now do we have your attention?

The EEV status (Energy Efficient Vehicle) highlights the benefits of Volvo’s Drive-E powertrain technology, which extracts high output from the engine but also deliver an efficient level of fuel consumption without increasing harmful emission.

Just how impressive is the performance? Well, the four-cylinder T6 engine generates 306bhp and 400Nm, the latter from as low as 2100rpm. 0-100kph is achieved in just 5.9 seconds; returning 6.7 litres/100km. Did we mention it’s a four-cylinder? So RM280,888 for all that – does it move you?
