Proton reports positive year-on year growth

Proton 1

Proton has announced that its sales performance has improved year-in-year as compared to the same period last year. As at 30 November 2017, the company recorded 66,190 units sold compared to 65,069 units previously, which is a 2 per cent improvement.

Without a doubt the Saga and Persona are the best-sellers with 28,368 and 18,113 units sold, or 70 per cent of total sales by Proton.

“It has been a challenging journey for Proton since the past 5 years and the steady growth that we recorded from January - November 2017 is a positive achievement for PROTON. We will continue to push ourselves harder in the coming months and we hope that customers will take advantage of the incredible year-end deals for Proton cars,” said Abdul Rashid Musa, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Proton.

He adds that improvements in product quality is also part of the growth, together with the opportunity for the local workforce to be trained by Geely in China. The products’ reliability and durability was also highlighted by taking the top podium during the Sepang 1000km endurance race last month.

Proton Iriz

This win is also believed to be the reason to the slight increase of sales for the Iriz model of 2.8 per cent in the month of November compared to October 2017.

Additionally, Proton currently has the Year End Bonanza, where purchases come with a RM0 maintenance offer for up to 5 years (includes parts, engine oil and labour) plus up to RM8,000 savings (depending on model).
