Yamaha YZF-R25 Price Revealed – from RM19,988*
ICYMI, Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) had previewed the new generation Yamaha YZF-R25 (R25 for short) earlier this year just before the festive Chinese New Year holidays.
Well, if you’ve been waiting to know how much it costs, then you’ll be glad to know HLYM has officially revealed it earlier today. The popular quarter-litre sport offering commands a base price of RM19,988 before on road costs.
Yes folks, HLYM have retained the same base selling price of the outgoing model for this new one.
As we’ve reported before, the new generation R25 he R25 gets a much sharper and sportier styling, featuring cues and lines inspired by its middleweight YZF-R6 supersport and flagship YZF-R1 superbike siblings.
While both the chassis and powertrain are carried over from the outgoing model, there’s a set of new upsidedown (USD) front forks to marvel in, promising enhanced handling and control.
The 249cc parallel-twin heart, on the other hand, has also gained minor upgrades, producing 35.5hp and 22.6Nm of twist. Yamaha claims this, plus the light 166kg (wet) weight the new R25 boasts, sees an 8kph increase in top speed.
The new 2019 Yamaha YZF-R25 will come in two colour choices, those being Blue and Red. It will begin hitting showrooms starting from the third week of March onwards.
By the way, buyers will receive an exclusive stainless steel Yamaha Disc Lock complete with “reminder” cable with each purchase of the new R25 too.
