A couple of upgrades have been added to the Volkswagen Tiguan, and while it’s certainly not a facelift (instead Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia describes it as part of the continuous effort to enhance ownership experience), it’s a pretty thoughtful upgrade. The popular SUV now comes with the new 2019 Active Info Display, as well as new LED taillights. You can see these on all Tiguans from March 2019 onwards.

The new Active Info Display boasts a smartphone-like high-def display using thin-film transistor (TFT). What’s new is that there’s a three-view screen that’s customisable with over 30 combination options. The dials can also be pre-set to show a combination of data and full 3D view map for ease of navigation.

As for the LED taillights, it’s offers a more distinctive light graphics including during braking to enhance visibility and safety.

These upgrades do not change the Tiguan’s price (RM165,990 for Highline and RM175,990 for the JOIN variant) and purchase from Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia comes with 3 years free maintenance, 5 years unlimited mileage warranty and 5 years roadside assistance.

The Volkswagen Tiguan is powered by a 1.4TSI engine good for 150ps and 250Nm. Together with its quick-shifting 6-speed DSG gearbox, the SUV can go from standstill to 100kph in 8.9 seconds.
