The new TuneBoss 'Made in Malaysia' ECUs are now better and cheaper than before

FSR Technology (the Malaysian company that created TuneBoss ECU) is celebrating its 10th anniversary by launching its latest High-Performance Programmable Standalone Engine Control Unit (ECU) for a selection of bikes below 250cc. The second-gen ECUs are now improved with multi-stage upgrades as well as being more affordable.

The very first TuneBoss ECU was launched back in 2014 where this truly 'Made in Malaysia' product offered ECU upgrades for some of the most popular bike models under 250cc. Now with its second-gen products, the new TuneBoss ECUs can be upgraded to three different stages at a lower price point.

Focused mostly on popular models from Honda and Yamaha, their latest offering is now available for the Yamaha Y16ZR and MT-15 models, with prices starting from RM299 to RM799 depending on which model the ECU is for. The list of compatible bikes that can use the new TuneBoss ECU is available on their official website.

According to Farhan Ali, FSR Technology CEO, "Our focus for Gen2 was to make this technology and reliability more affordable, while at the same time offer new high-end features for more advanced customers. To achieve this, our Gen2 ECU starts at a significantly lower price but is upgradeable in three stages. When fully upgraded, it has more features and performance than our Gen1 product."

Stage 1 is a decent boost for those who want an extra kick to their bike's overall performance when paired with some light bolt-on performance parts. Stage 2 offers a much bigger range of tuneability by adjusting all fuel and ignition adjustments, Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) control, Throttle Acceleration Compensation, and more.

For those who want the ultimate experience in terms of what TuneBoss ECU can offer when it comes to performance, Stage 3 upgrades allow them to fine-tune things such as dual injectors, electric water pump control, and fuel injection angle adjustments. This particular setup has been developed through their experience in racing and working closely with local racing teams.
