This fantastically angry BMW Alpina B7 is only for Canada

Canada is famous for lots of things. Most notably, Greg Rusedski. But aside from a left-handed tennis player, Drake and a national dish of chips, cheese and gravy (or poutine, as they call it over there), there’s now one more thing to add to the list of Canadian greats: these seriously sinister, limited-run Canada-only blacked-out Alpina B7s.

Aren’t they menacing? They’re officially dubbed ‘Exclusive Edition’, and these Alpina-fettled B7s (Alpina is of course, the Saville Row of BMW tuners) are limited to just 21 cars. Twenty one! They’re actually even rarer than that because that total of 21 is divided into three exclusive colours: Black Sapphire Metallic, Individual Frozen Black and Individual Frozen Grey. Only seven models will be offered with each colour, each one with its own interior plaque naming the paint and denoting that it’s only “1 of 7”.

These three shades of angry are then contrasted with black. Lots of black. Black-on-black-on-black, in fact. There’s a black grille, black chrome trim and 21-inch wheels in - you guessed it - black. There’s also black chrome badging and an Alpina sports exhaust system with black chrome tips.

Inside, the cabin is highlighter pink. Only joking, it’s black. Each Exclusive Edition B7 gets a BMW Individual Full Merino black leather interior with contrast stitching. Drivers will also find an Alpina steering wheel and floor mats with dark grey accents. Last but not least, there’s embossed headrests with an Alpina logo.

If they could make power black, they’d probably have done that too. But they couldn’t, so the Exclusives get the same performance numbers as normal, which means 600bhp from a twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 good for 800Nm, 0-100kph in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 309kph.

Prices haven’t been announced yet, but with such limited numbers up for grabs, you better get your order in quick. Yes, we’re talking to you Greg Rusedski.
