Subaru Corporation has initiated two worldwide recalls, the first involving the following models which uses the FA20 and FB20 engines, as follows:

  BRZ   Model Year (MY) 2013
  Legacy/Outback   MY 2013-2014
  Forester   MY 2012-2014
  Impreza/XV   MY 2012-2014

The recall involves the engine’s valve springs, which has the possibility to fracture when under stress. This could result in an unusual noise coming from the engine, the engine stalling and not being able to restart.

This action involves customers across the region including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, and Vietnam. Every customer will be notified about this recall and replaced valve springs will be free of charge.

The other recall is regarding potential issues with the multi-information display for the MY2018 Legacy/Outback models manufactured before 1 August 2018. A programming issue could lead to inaccuracies about the information displayed, namely amount of fuel left and the actual drivable distance.
