Lexus Malaysia has been a bit quiet lately, but today is different. Let’s welcome the latest variant into the RX family, the RX300 Special Edition. What makes it special over the regular RX300 Luxury is the RM434,000 price tag (inclusive SST), which is RM10,000 more. But seriously…

The front of the SUV now features an extra underbody panel to protect the bodywork against stones and other debris. Also new is the new body mouldings along the sides of the vehicle which is integrated with the new one-piece side steps. Higher up the flanks are custom-designed visors.

Additional new items include a step guard for the floor of the rear opening and welcome door lamp (puddle lamp) that projects the Lexus logo. The RX300 Special Edition also comes with a dashcam that’s built into the rear-view mirror, and Touch n’ Go reader/transmitter. All these items are genuine Lexus accessories that are installed at UMW Toyota Motor’s accessories centre in Bukit Raja, Selangor.

Another immediate benefit is that the RX300 Special Edition comes with the usual 5-year/unlimited mileage factory warranty that’s also available with every other vehicle sold by Lexus Malaysia.

The RX model is one of the most successful models from Lexus, and the RX300 Special Edition being the seventh variant from Lexus Malaysia. As with other all-wheel driven RX300 SUVs, the Special Edition is powered by turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine that makes 235ps and 350Nm which goes to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
