Malaysians can now own a Proton Saga for less than RM30,000 in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri and simultaneously contribute to Tabung Harapan Malaysia (Malaysia's Hope Fund).

The national car maker said that this is the best car offer in the past 10 years and it has pledged RM10 for every car purchase to be donated to the government fund, which will take effect starting today till Dec 31, 2018.

"As a caring national corporate organisation, Proton feels the need to come forward to provide additional assistance towards the cause, for the country and the people of Malaysia," it said in a statement today.

Besides Proton Saga, other models such as Iriz and Ertiga will have a price cut of up to RM4,000 and up to RM3,000 savings for Persona.

The price cut is on top of the zerorised Goods and Services Tax resulting in a price drop between 12 and 18 per cent, depending on the car model

Proton will also be offering a free 20-point inspection at all its outlets nationwide starting today till June 15, which covers areas such as brake and clutch pedal operations, lighting and indicators, safety belt, battery checks and others.
