The new Honda HR-V has been received well with over 8,500 units booked since its launch in January 2019; and since that event, 4,000 bookings were recorded which meant that Honda Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. achieved its three month target in a single month. Since the launch, HMSB has delivered more than 3,000 units of the new HR-V giving it a number 1 position in the compact SUV segment with 87 per cent of market share.

47 per cent of the sales was in the Klang Valley, while the Southern region came in second with 18 per cent while the Northern region contributed another 18 per cent of sales. According to the company, the latest Passion Red Pearl colour was the most popular choice for buyers as 28 per cent of the new HR-V came in that hue.

HMSB managing director and chief executive officer Toichi Ishiyama commented on one of the two latest variant to join the HR-V family, ““The top of range variant which is the New HR-V RS has been well accepted in the market despite its first introduction in Malaysia. The RS variant with its stylish features such as 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, sporty design front grille, black front and rear bumper on top of the new driving feature Variable Gear Ratio (VGR) steering system has been well received especially among the male target market. We are pleased to note that the New HR-V remains the best in its class, appealing to the market with its compact yet spacious interiors which is comparable to a C-segment vehicle.”
