The tax holiday has benefitted plenty of car companies and customers, and Honda Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (HMSB) may have enjoyed it the most with 12,808 cars registered in the single month of July. That’s a record for them too; the City, Civic, and Jazz were the best-selling models with 36%, 19%, and 16% respectively.

To date, Honda Malaysia’s CKD models which consist of the City, Jazz, HR-V, BR-V, CR-V, Accord and Civic are leaders in their respective segments.

The number of bookings and registration may fall once the new Sales and Service Tax (SST) is introduced, but HMSB has something to hopefully cushion the drop – the new HR-V which has reportedly gained good response during its preview events will be launched soon.

This is in addition to a good sales momentum HMSB has been enjoying. They’ve held the no.1 sales position in the non-national car segment and no.2 overall Total Industry Volume for the past few years.
