By sep, 18 February 2021

The very first 6.0-litre W12 TSI engine designed specifically for the Bentley Mulliner Bacalar production model has finally completed its first production testing in Crewe, England. Regarded as the brand’s most advanced 12-cylinder engine in history, this beautiful beast is said to produce a whopping 650hp and 900Nm of torque.

Throughout the years, Bentley’s efforts in developing their W12 engines have led to a significant power increase as well as reducing emissions levels. Countless evolutions and optimisations were conducted on the development of its crankcase, cooling systems, fuel injection, and especially Bentley’s twin-scroll turbocharging tech.

As for this latest 12-cylinder power unit, the 6.0-litre powerhouse is destined to be placed into the first customer Bentley Mulliner Bacalar after having completed all of the required assembly and testing phases. A team of 45 expert builders build this unit by hand over a 6.5-hour span before going through a vigorous 60-minute run via three specialist diagnostic machines.

Only 12 units of the Bentley Mulliner Bacalar will go into production and each of them comes with a price tag of £1.5million (around RM8.21 million). What you’ll also get is an extremely sexy and rare Bentley that can easily exceed the 200mph mark (322kph). Very beautiful, very powerful, and very rare.
