Esteban Ocon inks three-year deal with Alpine

Alpine F1 Team has confirmed that French driver Esteban Ocon will continue driving for the team until 2024. This comes after a new three-year contract was agreed between both parties.

The 24-year-old driver first made his mark in Formula One as Renault’s reserve driver in 2016 before joining Manor halfway in the season; the French star later joined Force India from 2017 to 2018 and spent 2019 as a reserve driver for Mercedes.

Upon returning to the then Renault F1 Team, he recorded his first podium and best F1 result to date, finishing second in the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix. With the team rebranded as Alpine from 2021, Ocon shows no sign of running out of steam, netting four consecutive points-scoring finishes between Imola and Monaco while racing alongside new teammate and two-time world champion Fernando Alonso.

A star in the making perhaps?
