Shortly after Kawasaki’s launch event, it was Ducati Malaysia’s turn to take centre stage on Saturday afternoon at Art Of Speed 2018 where the firm introduced the very latest addition into its Scrambler line up.

Finally making its way onto our shores is the 2018 Ducati Scrambler 1100. This is the most powerful iteration of the Scrambler model as it harnesses a larger 1,079cc version of the Italian brand’s famed air-cooled V-twin. This Euro 4-compliant mill healthily delivers 86hp @ 7,500rpm and 88.4Nm @ 4,750rpm.

In case you didn’t know, the bulk of the Scrambler range utilises a Monster-derived 803cc mill, with the exception of the entry-level Scrambler Sixty2 of course that uses a smaller 399cc V-twin instead.

Back to the Scrambler 1100 and, with its arrival, Ducati Malaysia has effectively completed the Scrambler model range locally. In typical Scrambler form, the 1100 variant can be had in a choice two forms starting with a contemporary Special or racier Sport trim.

Notable features in the Scrambler 1100’s kit list include 45mm USD front forks, cornering ABS, twin Brembo front disc brakes with Monobloc calipers, selectable riding modes, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Öhlins (Sport) and Kayaba (Special) suspension kits, as well as a decently large 15-litre fuel tank.

Available for viewing and booking now, the new Ducati Scrambler 1100 goes on sale from RM83,000 onwards in Scrambler 1100 Special form, and from RM85,000 in Scrambler 1100 Sport trim. Bookings placed between July 28 and August 5 will also benefit with a special SST tax exemption of the final pricing.
