Conduct much business in the HondaJet 'Elite'

Honda makes many things that aren’t cars. Motorcycles, lawnmowers, outboard motors, mobility scooters and of course…private aircraft. Like this, the new HondaJet ‘Elite’ – a quieter, more efficient and therefore longer-range version of, says Honda, the world’s best-selling “advanced light jet”.

Yes, ADVANCED. It’s got 17 per cent more range than the regular HondaJet so you can cruise for 2,661 miles (4,282km) without needing a top-up. This makes it “the most fuel-efficient” and “longest range” aircraft in its class. Max cruising speed is 782kph, at a maximum altitude of 43,000ft.

The twin engines have been tweaked for quietness, making it much easier to conduct important BUSINESS mid-flight. Interior appointments include a speaker-less audio system, a fully-equipped galley with a coffee machine and some very comfy looking leather seats. The pilots, meanwhile, get cleverer control systems (that we don’t really understand) to make the business of flying the thing as easy and safe as possible.

The new plane is on display at the European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition – catchy – in Geneva until the end of this month. We don’t know how much it will cost, and we don’t really want to either. A regular one is about £3.5million (RM18.5m).
