Chevrolet has (again) left the building. To be more precise, Naza Quest Sdn. Bhd. which has been the brand’s custodian in Malaysia will cease to distribute new Chevrolet vehicles. However, Naza Quest will still provide warranty and aftersales support for existing Chevy owners. Naza Quest will cease its new car business operations starting tomorrow, 15 November 2018.

The move is attributed to a brand rationalisation plan under Naza Group’s overall corporate strategy. “We will continue to focus on our other four and two-wheel brands. The Naza Group will maximise its complete automotive line-up and explore other business opportunities to expand its market share in the automotive industry,” said Dato’ Samson Anand George, Group CEO of Naza Corporation’s Automotive Group.

On the other hand, General Motors SEA is quick to state that they will be back. Vanchana Unakul, general director of GM Southeast Asia commented, “Chevrolet is here to stay in Malaysia and we will be announcing our new distributor partner as soon as possible.”
