VW Beetle Final Edition

That day has finally come – the release of the true final Volkswagen Beetle, aptly named the Beetle Final Edition. We told you this before, so it shouldn’t be such a surprise, but the death of such an iconic model is difficult to accept all the same.

The Final Edition is produced in America, which apart from its birthplace in Europe, is another market where the Beetle truly shined. The Beetle had, and still does have, a cult following. And the special tribute versions that is at the Los Angeles Auto Show comprise of the Beetle Final Edition and Beetle Cabriolet Final Edition.

Both come equipped with 2.0-litre TSI engine that makes 176ps mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. What makes it special is how it looks: inspiration comes from the “Ultima Edicion” which is the version of the final first-gen Beetle made in 2003. Thus, the exclusive colours of the Final Edition is Beige (Safari Uni) and Light Blue (Stonewashed Blue). If those doesn’t fancy you, there’s always the more standard Pure White, Deep Black Pearl Effect, and Platinum Grey to choose from. The fabric roof of the Cabriolet is designed in brown colour. The Final Edition models can also be recognised by the “Beetle" lettering on the tailgate.

In America, the Volkswagen Beetle Final Edition is available from $23,045 (RM96,000), while the Beetle Cabriolet Final Edition is $27,295 (RM116,600).
