The production facility at Mazda Malaysia’s plant in Kulim, Kedah, is now upgraded with a new paint shop for Mazda’s designer body colours and to automate part of the body-welding process. According to the company, this facility raises the use of technology in line with those practiced in Mazda’s ‘parent factories’ at Ujina and Hofu, Western Japan.

The designer colours mentioned above are namely Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, and Snow Flake White Pearl Mica.

Currently, vehicles coming out from the Kulim factory are for the Malaysian market, and exported to Thailand. There are definite plans to expand the export market to Indonesia, Philippines, Cambodia, and Myanmar.
