Harley-Davidson’s first new Malaysian home opens in The Gasket Alley, PJ
The famed American bar-and-shield motorcycle marque that is Harley-Davidson celebrated the opening of its first new home in Malaysia earlier today.
Located within The Gasket Alley, PJ is the new Harley-Davidson of Petaling Jaya (HDPJ). This is the first of a series of new homes planned for the American brand as it refreshes its local dealership network.
ICYMI, Harley-Davidson’s regional arm ended their long-standing agreement with Naza Prestige Bikes Sdn Bhd last year, awarding the right of sole distributorship to DIDI Resources Sdn Bhd since then instead.
Back to HDPJ and, it’s worth noting that the full-fledged sales and service centre is owned and operated by Goh Brothers Motorcycles Sdn Bhd. The firm had invested some RM3 million to develop and build this new centre for the brand.
During today’s launch, a number of new 2018 Harley-Davidson models were proudly placed on display too. Leading the bill were the full range of the 2018 Softail model, followed by the 115th Anniversary Edition Street Glide and Road Glide Special.
Whilst the showroom and lifestyle apparels are housed on the same floor, HDPJ also boasts a state-of-the-art service centre in its basement. Here sits six service bays and a body and paint centre, all manned by staff certified by the American bar-and-shield.
With its opening, HDPJ will now serve as a one-stop centre for all Harley-Davidson owners and fans in the Klang Valley. Along with that came the establishment of a new Harley-Davidson Owners Group (HOG) Petaling Jaya Chapter as well.
Additionally, existing Harley-Davidson owners with bikes purchased before 2018 will be glad to know that HDPJ will honour the two-year manufacturer’s warranty without any activation or registration fees.
Beyond HDPJ, the Goh Brothers Motorcycles Sdn Bhd have also committed to setting up two more Harley-Davidson brand centres in Penang and Malacca. Both will open their doors sometime in the second half of this year.
