PLUS offers rebate during CNY holidays; and issues Travel-Time Advisory

Note: to get the rebates, you’ll need to register your PLUSMiles or Touch ‘n Go card first

PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) is offering toll rebate to Class 1 highway users with registered PLUSMiles or Touch 'n Go cards via PLUSMiles portal travelling more than 100 kilometres during 4 non-peak days which are on 12,13, 20 and 21 February.

On those designated days, highway users will still need to pay toll charges in the full amount, with the 20 per cent rebate coming in the form of toll reloads which can be reloaded into their registered PLUSMiles or Touch ‘n Go cards. According to the PLUS press release, this can be done at all PLUS customer service centres from 15 March to 14 June 2018.

The toll rebate, however, does not apply at Bangunan Sultan Iskandar, Tanjung Kupang, and the Penang Bridge toll plazas.

Those who haven’t registered their cards (PLUSMiles or Touch ‘n Go) can do so at PLUSMiles’ portal

PLUS estimates that 1.6 million vehicles will use the North-South highway on every peak day during the coming CNY holidays, which is an increase of 10.3 per cent over normal days.

As usual, PLUS has issued a Travel Time Advisory (TTA) to help the public plan their journey and distribute traffic in order to prevent road users in converging on the road at the same time.

Based on the TTA, highway users from Klang Valley heading towards further destinations such as Johor, Perlis, Kedah, Penang dan North Perak are advised to enter the highway before 10.00 am.

For those heading towards nearer locations such as Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Central Perak and South Perak, they are advised to enter the highway after 10.00 am.

"The TTA is designed to prevent traffic heading towards further destinations from converging with those heading to nearer ones," Azman explained.
