Eight Ford Performance line-up and eight race car drivers battle it out on a race track. Typical TopGear-style battle royale!
Without using too many words, this video is just simply cool. Ford took eight models from its Ford Performance global line-up, each populated by one driver from the Ford Chip Ganassi Racing Team, and put them on a race circuit. It has never been done before. Looking at this video below, we wonder why so.
The line-up of cars include the Ford F-150 Raptor; Fiesta ST, all-new Fiesta ST, Focus RS, new Mustang GT, Mustang GT350R, Ford GT road car and Ford GT race, all going at it at the 5.34-km Motorland circuit near Barcelona, Spain.
It must have been a hoot to shoot and the team amazingly only had four hours to do it as the real work was doing pre-season Ford GT race car tyre test. All eight drivers are Any Priaulx, Harry Tincknell, Oliver Pla, Steven Mucke, Dirk Muller, Joey Hand, Richard Westbrook, and Ryan Briscoe.
The entire video was shoot using three camera crews, a drone and 16 GoPro cameras, with a Ford Fiesta ST serving as tracking car with all footage shot in hi-def 4K resolution.
Afterwards Harry Tincknell said: “It was a hilarious shoot. Eight racing drivers all given a car to go flat-out in for a race. Anything could have happened and it almost did! It was amazing to be one of the first people to drive the all-new Ford Fiesta ST, one of the most popular cars in the world, and it handled like a dream.“
