Involving 52,707 units of past generation models. Current selling Nissan not affected
Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn. Bhd. (ETCM) have issued a Takata-airbag inflator related recall for the Nissan Frontier (D22), Sentra (N16), and first-gen X-Trail (T30). This action is taken following a recent announcement by Nissan Motor Co. Ltd.; and is a continuation of the ETCM recall initiated inJune 2015 and August 2016.
An approximately 52,707 units of Nissan vehicles in Malaysia are involved in the Takata Front Passenger Airbag Inflator Recall.
* Nissan Sentra (N16) vehicles not equipped with airbag are not included in the exercise.
This Takata recall exercise does not affect the New Nissan X-Trail (T32) which was launched in January 2015, as well as all other current selling Nissan models.
Tan Chong Ekspres Auto Servis (TCEAS) will be in contact with effected vehicle owners via letter in which customers are advised to set-up an appointment at the nearest TCEAS outlet. Selected TCEAS have extended its operation hours and now opens 365 days making it easier for customers to service their vehicles on weekends, as well as to alleviate the capacities for the replacement activity. Customers will bear no cost associated with the repair of the Takata inflator.
ETCM is also providing for Takata airbag inflator replacements during the Test Drive Carnival, held on 19 and 20 May 2017 at AEON Mall Kota Bharu, Kelantan starting from 10am till 10pm.
