Question: would you be interested in buying the new Honda FK8 R? We ask because if you are serious about owning it, Honda Malaysia will definitely sell one to you. Yup, Honda Malaysia is taking orders for the fastest-FWD-in-Nurburgring beginning 1 October 2017.

Two things to note, however; the first being that only 21 selected Honda dealers can accept the latest Honda Civic Type R order (list of which is available at the end of this report), and secondly, while Honda Malaysia has not revealed – or hinted – of its price, the general understanding is that it is not going to be ‘cheap’.

After all, it is being sold for IDR995,000,000 in Indonesia, or roughly RM320,000. Hmmm.

The new Civic Type R will be the most powerful model ever sold by the Honda Malaysia*; its turbocharged 2.0-litre VTEC mill making 310ps and 400Nm. All to the front wheels, via a 6-speed manual, but you already knew that didn’t you?

The car also comes with three driving modes (Comfort, Sport, and +R), and each alter parameters that include the Adaptive Damper System, Electronic Power Steering, VSA, traction, and brake system.

* We don’t mind if Honda Malaysia relegates the FK8 R to the second most powerful model, easily done by selling the NSX too. Just sayin’…
