With a release date of October 3, 2017, Forza Motorsport 7 is almost upon us. Developer Turn 10 Studios however, has one more surprise for fans of increasingly ludicrous vehicular heist movies. This downloadable ‘day one’ car pack, which is bundled for free with Deluxe and Ultimate versions of the game, features ten of the cars from this year’s Fate of the Furious. And yes, we’ll admit to being a tiny bit disappointed we didn’t get the nuclear submarine thrown in as well.

While the majority of included cars are familiar production models with the occasional aftermarket bodykit, there’s some spectacular specialist machinery in there too, including the jacked up Local Motors Rally Fighter and the tyre-twisting Dodge Demon.

It’s white-vest-enthusiast Dominic Toretto’s fictional contribution to the car pack that’s most exciting though. Vin Diesel’s character drives a widened, heavily armoured, four wheel drive Dodge Charger and, better yet, the gloriously ratty turbocharged 1951 Chevy Fleetline Special from the opening sequence in Havana. Last time we saw that it was 30 feet in the air, on fire and heading backwards into the sea.

It’s worth noting that the Forza series has previous experience with the Fast and Furious movies, with a free Forza Horizon 2 spin-off game back in 2015 to accompany the seventh film in the franchise. This downloadable pack continues that tradition, though if industry leaks are to be believed there’s a full fat Fast and Furious game on the way from Project CARS 2 developer Slightly Mad Studios as well.

If you’re a gamer and you like your cars to be heavily modified, monstrously overpowered, and regularly being chased by tanks, you’ve got a lot to look forward to…
